Minimum Qualifications – Experience and Education
A qualified applicant will have four (4) years of education and/or
experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities
required for the position. Qualifying experience may include any
combination of the following:
- High school diploma or GED; and
- Four (4) years of similar experience in the areas of repair and
maintenance of buildings, equipment and grounds.

- Background Check. All positions must pass a basic criminal history
check. Conviction of a crime may not necessarily prohibit
employment. Some may require additional clearance, including but not
limited to national or state fingerprinting.
- Driving for Agency Business. Applicants must possess a current
driver's license in their state of residence and acceptable driving
history. May require proof of personal automobile liability
insurance [ORS Chapter 806] and use of a personal vehicle for
business use.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge and experience in general facility maintenance including
HVAC systems, roofing, landscaping, and basic carpentry.
- Ability to identify, report, and correct malfunctioning equipment.
- Experience coordinating vendors and monitoring service performance.
- Understanding of preventive and cost-effective maintenance practices.
- Ability to plan office space and install modular furniture with
ergonomic considerations.
- Proficiency with hand and power tools and safe material handling practices.
- Knowledge of fleet maintenance coordination and identification of
minor vehicle maintenance issues.
- Experience with office equipment and basic technology setup.
- Experience receiving goods, reconciling deliveries, and supporting
inventory or invoicing processes.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills, including effective listening,
sound judgment, courtesy, and tact, and the ability to accurately
understand, prioritize, and respond to requests in a professional manner.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize work orders, work
independently, complete assignments accurately and on time, and seek
and offer assistance when needed.
- Computer proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets,
databases, email, and internet applications.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
Work is performed in office, warehouse, facility, and outdoor
environments and involves use of computers, hand and power tools,
vehicles, and exposure to weather and cleaning agents. Duties require
standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 75 pounds,
with the use of appropriate safety equipment. Travel throughout the
Agency service area and occasional irregular hours may be required.
This position may involve contact with members of the public in
office or community settings, where there is potential for exposure to
confrontational behavior, communicable illnesses, and interactions
with domestic animals.
